What data we process

Browsing data

As with any website, the servers hosting it automatically record certain technical data about visits: IP address, date and time of the request, page requested, browser type and operating system. These data are needed to run the website and to protect it against misuse and cyber attacks; they are not used to identify visitors.

For visit statistics we use Koko Analytics, installed on our own server: it counts visits and page views in aggregate form, without cookies and without keeping IP addresses. Server logs are also used to obtain anonymous traffic statistics.

Data you provide to us

If you fill in the form on the Contacts page, you send us your first and last name, email address, company and telephone number if any, and the text of your message. The form sends these data by email to our company mailbox: the website does not store them in an archive of its own. The same applies if you write to us directly at the email addresses shown on the website.

If you write to us on WhatsApp using the button on the website, the message passes through the service of WhatsApp Ireland Limited, under its terms and its privacy policy: we process your number and the content of your messages only in order to reply to you. The website merely opens WhatsApp when you press the button and does not send any data to WhatsApp in advance.

Job applications

If you respond to the open positions on the Work with us page by sending us your CV, we process the data it contains in order to assess your application. Please do not include in your CV any data that is not necessary, such as data concerning health or other special categories of data.

Why we process the data and on what legal basis

Purpose Legal basis
Replying to requests for information, quotations and contacts Performance of pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Assessing the job applications received Pre-contractual measures at your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR)
Ensuring the operation and security of the website Legitimate interest of the controller (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Complying with legal obligations and defending our rights Legal obligation and legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(f) GDPR)

Providing the data requested in the contact form is optional, but without contact details we cannot reply to you. We do not take decisions based solely on automated processing and we do not carry out profiling.

How long we keep the data

  • Contact requests: for as long as necessary to handle the request and any business relationship that may follow; if none follows, for no more than 24 months.
  • Job applications: for no more than 24 months from receipt, unless the application leads to an employment relationship.
  • Browsing data: for the period set by the hosting provider for security purposes, normally no longer than 12 months.

At the end of these periods the data are deleted, unless the law requires them to be kept for longer.

Who can see the data

The data are processed by RBF DMAT staff who are authorised and instructed to do so. They may also be processed, as data processors and solely for the services they provide to us, by the website’s hosting provider (Keliweb S.r.l., with servers in Italy) and by the provider of our company email services.

If your request concerns our subsidiary in China, we may forward it to DMAT Automation Technology (Wuxi) Co., Ltd. solely in order to reply to you: in this case the transfer outside the European Union takes place because it is necessary for the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at your request (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).

The data are not disclosed to the public or transferred to third parties for marketing purposes.

Cookies and third-party content

The website uses only technical cookies. The map on the Contacts page is provided by OpenStreetMap, which receives your IP address in order to display it but does not use it for profiling; Google Maps opens only if you click “Open in Google Maps”. Details can be found in the cookie policy.

Your rights

Within the limits laid down in Articles 15 to 22 GDPR, you may at any time request:

  • to access your data and receive a copy of it;
  • to rectify or update it;
  • to erase it;
  • to restrict its processing;
  • to receive it in a structured format and transmit it to another controller (portability);
  • to object to processing based on legitimate interest.

To exercise your rights, write to info@rbfdmat.com: we will reply free of charge within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (Italian Data Protection Authority) (www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live or work.
